At 20 degrees, it is time to molt. Shed the dead skin that sustained a form which we have evolved from. Allow this new version of you to take a deep breath without being constrained. Mars enters Cancer
The Red Planet moves into blue waters. This Solar Eclipse/New Moon comes with an active dose of emotional awareness. Mars being the planet of passion, action, assertion, and desire will be taking its cues from the sign of nurturing, care, compassion, and intuition. Mars is in debilitation or fall in the sign of Cancer, meaning it is not functioning in optimal condition. Mars is use to functioning on pure raw instinct and acting on an inner knowing of confidence. In Cancer, Mars is required to utilize emotions, act with empathy, and use intuition which is more gut feeling than head knowing. Mars’ challenge as it traverses through Cancer, will be to parse out the emotional content and decide how to initiate based on that particular emotion. Be careful not to suppress feelings or automatically explode during this Mars’ transit.
Mars in Cancer at 0 degrees sextiles Chiron in Taurus retrograde at 0 degrees
Mars enters Cancer and Chiron has begun its retreat back to Aries while still at 0 degrees Taurus. This 0 degree sextile between Mars in Cancer and Chiron in Taurus is an opportunity to unpack everything. Everything dealing with emotions and value including emotional value has a place at the table while these two planets are in alignment. Sextiles between the earth and water elements are like planting seeds that need to be nurtured. Chiron always presents wounds or growing pains we have to learn to live with. The challenge is how these lessons are presented. The temperament of Mars in Cancer will be the X-factor during this aspect. Will Mars’ influence cause us to over emote and be consumed by our emotions, or enable us to see where we need to take action to overcome the situation.
Mystical Kite
This New Moon/Solar Eclipse presents us with two Mystical Kites. Mystical Kites contain a Grand trine, which is a trine between each elemental sign. In this instance, the signs are Libra, Gemini, and Aquarius. It also contains a Working trine, also known as a Minor Grand trine or Small Talent trine. This is where a trine connects to sextiles to make a triangle pattern in the chart. The points of the two Working trines in play exist in Leo and Aries. I’ll speak to the Mystical Kite in Leo which is associated with New Moon.
The bulk of the Mystical Kite is comprised of a Grand Air trine. These are three 120 degrees aspects connecting Venus in Libra, Uranus in Gemini, and the tail Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. A Grand Air trine has the ability to enhance intellect, increase communication, and increase the affinity to build relationships. It may also enhance or bring certain psychic senses online like clairaudience (clear hearing) as well as the psychic ability of telepathy. So, be careful of poking around others thoughts. Venus in Libra is in its domicile. This may increase the desire to dress nicer, enter a romantic relationship, or correct social injustices. At 5 degrees, Venus becomes very expressive about how it believes things should be carried out. It ensures there is an overall understanding about the level of effort is required and who needs to contribute.
Uranus in Gemini is the initiator of change and voice of the marginalized. It will ensure that those who don’t have a voice will get one and that all communities are represented. At 5 degrees, it also becomes very vocal about what will be dismissed and what will be implemented. It will introduce a level of eccentric courage and creativity needed to aid the evolution of the project. Pluto retrograde in Aquarius is applying an internal level of correction to self. The trine between Venus in Libra and Uranus in Gemini create the ease in harmonic integration. Uranus helps connect the unique communal and intellectual aspects of Gemini with the cultural and relationship aspects of Libra. The sextile of Mercury to Uranus aids in molding a distinct perspective to convey to the world. The sextile of Mercury to Venus opens the door to elegant familiarity when authentically communicating.
Every great kite needs a solid spine. This spine contains the opposition between the head of the kite (Mercury in Leo) and the tail of the kite (Pluto in Aquarius). This opposition is a tug of war between the conscious and unconscious mind. Pluto is working in slightly detached state as it makes these internal adjustments. It’s like doing spring cleaning and tossing what doesn’t create a reaction. Then Mercury is sitting in the middle of the room with full awareness deciding who & what stays and who & what goes.
